HEIDI Mountain Girl Heidi was a heart-tugging sight when we first found her. Her former owners had left her tied to a fence. A loving senior collie certainly deserves a better fate than that! Heidi lived in a PCSR foster home for 10 months, and not many folks inquired about her. Sometimes it is hard for people to realize that a senior dog does indeed have a lot of time left, and certainly a lot of love, play and potential inside of them. But all the waiting was worth it. Heidi hit the jackpot when a wonderful woman named from Winter Park named Bonnie saw her on our website. Heidi now gets to live at home with her new mom, where she is the center of attention. AND go to work with her at Winter Park Ski Resort, where the staff adores her... and she is the center of attention! What a happy ending! Here is what Bonnie told us in October 2007: Heidi is doing great, getting way too spoiled but other than that she is lovin' life up here in the mountains. The last two days it has snowed quite a bit and she just loves it. She runs and jumps and puts her nose in the snow and snorts. She loves those walks and we do 2 or 3 a day, we have different routes we take and she wants to be sure and hit each one each day. Some days she wants to go to work with me and other days when I open the back of the jeep to put her in she heads straight back to the house, deciding it's more comfortable to lay at home than at work I guess, although she loves all the attention she gets there.
