Summer Draws to a Close
Maddie, our "Collie Correspondent in the Field" sent us this note on the night of Aug. 31, right under the wire to make her monthly report (but we are including her post in September so that no one misses her always important news!  For those who do not speak "Maddie-ese," here is a translation.  Her original note is below.

"Well, hello, Jen and Friends!  The realization that August has drawn to a close reminded me that I not write in awhile.  The days are growing shorter and the faint scent of fall is wafting up my nostrils.  Well, anyway, this weekend Cousin Jack come visit from Nebraska!  He is fourteen years old (that's two in human years).  We great friends.  At any rate, now I have to go pack my toys for our annual trip to Yellowstone Park with Mom and Dad and my Sister Cheyenne.  I send more pictures soon!  I very busy collie on the go!  All my best, sincerely yours, Madison Collie."

Collie-rado
Aspen (adopted from PCSR) and Danube enjoy a mountain hike near Keystone.  (More precisely, enjoy taking a break during their mountain hike!)

Yea!  Adoption Day!
Kelly the collie and her new mom and mom's friend were all smiles on adoption day -- which is, let's face it -- the greatest day that our rescue dogs get to have.  Someone says, "I love you.  I want you.  Be mine!"  Who could ask for anything more?

What's Not to Love?
Prince the sheltie had a great summer.  He got to travel with his adopters Shirley and Pete to Idaho, and then be cuddled and adored by their family. Lucky dog!
