April
"April Sweetheart" is the name this lovely female collie has been given. But she will not hear it, because April is deaf. Her ear canals are normal and her eardrums intact. But she does not seem to hear at all. It does not keep her from being gentle and loving and snuggly. She adores people. She gets along just fine with all of my dogs. I don't imagine she would object to a kitty or two. Because of her hearing deficit, we will not place April with very young children because they might startle her.
April loves the kitchen because of the good smells. She loves the bedroom because of all the snuggling. She is great on a leash. I did need to show her how to "kennel up" into my dogmobile so she may not have much experience with going places but is eager to learn. She is a spayed female, about 3-4 years old. She has been completely vaccinated and microchipped. She had a swelling on the right side of her face that has subsided but not completely gone away. She is scheduled for dental x-rays and probable removal of one upper tooth which may have a compromised root. But that will not slow her down. She taught herself the doggie door in about a minute and is also completely housebroken and used to being groomed. She stretched out on the grooming table and sighed with contentment in the bath. She is used to being loved and is remembering how it felt. How she became a stray in the middle of nowhere, no one knows?! But April deserves better than she has had recently. And we are committed to helping her find it.
