Lucky Dog

When a dog leaves a sanctuary and goes into a loving foster home to learn all about life, his name can then be "I'm a Lucky Dog!"  His original name was Levi but he has shaken off those memories and we will not upset him with the past.  We will just move forward for him to have the best life possible.

Lucky Dog is a 3-year-old neutered male sable and white sheltie.  'LD' adores the company of his foster mom and dad, no matter what is on the agenda.  The Bronco's pre-season game was a good excuse for snuggling and longing glances at football snacks. And he will follow them through the house, worshipping the floor they walk on.  They report that LD seems to be housebroken, is learning basic commands and is one smart little cookie.  In addition to being neutered, LD is heartworm negative, completely vaccinated, parasite free and microchipped. His blood chemistry and CBC are all within the normal range, too.  At a backyard barbeque, a 2-year-old child tossed a toy for him over and over to the delight of both of them.  Lucky was just fine with being kissed and hugged as well.  This darling 33# sheltie must have had a good life once and he wants his 'forever home' to be full of love and good care.  But he may carry some baggage with him.  And he will need support from his family to help him understand that he will not be abandoned again.

Please read over the adoption information section on our website and if it seems like we are the rescue group for you, please proceed to the online application.  The more information you are willing to share with us about your life and desires for a companion, the better we can help to guide the adoption process.   And please think carefully about whether or not you can make a lifetime commitment to a companion animal.  Hard economic times have shown us that some humans are not terribly humane.  Our beloved dogs deserve better than that.  Thanks for considering a rescued dog to be your next best friend.
